Notable Woman's Initiative Book

I just found out a book has been made about the Notable Woman's Exhibit at Southern Oregon University in Ashland, Oregon. I looked up the website and guess what my quilt had made the cover and was the first featured quilt!

If you click on preview you can see the whole book. I must admit I did order a copy almost immediately!

Quilt Rescue

I was sent 3 quilts by an Etsy customer who thought a colleague was making a T shirt quilt with her husbands T shirts but she came by with three! This is how two of the quilts looked, quite unusual!

I stripped down the quilts and luckily they weren't actually quilted through the layers so it took a lot of scissor work to get all the logos cut out.

Work in progress as the logos are salvaged from the old quilts.

I then laid out the logos to make about a queen size quilt.

Logos laid out before the addition of cotton fabrics.

Finally after the addition of blue and grey fabrics I was able to unite all the shirt colors and logos. The shambles/funny quilts were finally a cohesive quit, no raw edges, zig-zag stitching but straight lines, batting and quilting! Enjoy my quilt rescue.
